When I was asked to review the Hoser Classic Work Boot from the Muck Boot Company, I was reluctant. I’ve written about literally hundreds of different styles and makes of boots and I figured this was going to be just an average write up. I was also told that this boot was quite a few years old in the market already, which is why it’s called “classic”.
When my shiny brand new pair of Hoser boots arrived at my doorstep, I immediately noticed the quality of construction. I particularly noticed how well the upper part and the sole were seamlessly molded together. Also on the boot was this nylon upper, which stretches and gives you that snug fit at the top.
Now I was told that the Muck Boot Company has redesigned this boot into the Chore and made some revisions and some modifications, but that since it was so popular, people wanted to continue buying it even though there was a newer version. Talk about customer loyalty. It reminds me of when Coke changed their formula to compete with Pepsi and people made such a fuss that they had to offer the classic also. Not sure this generated the same kind of publicity, but same concept.
After I walked around with my new boots on for about thirty minutes or so, I was relieved to find that there were no pressure points and no signs of impending blisters. I guess it’s because they are so flexible to begin with, there really is no break-in period for them. My initial thoughts about reviewing these line of Muck Boots were changed after spending some time with them, I really do like them. I’m going to continue to wear them.
