How To Get The Most Out Of Your Next Computer Purchase

Filed under General Interests | Posted by guest author

Computers are always changing so fast. A great example of the speed of change is my friend bought a cheap laptop the other day and when he was telling me about it I realized it was the same specification as my desktop computer which is just a few years old! As software gets more complex and requires more resources to run then in a few years time my computer which was great to start with, will struggle to cope, and I’ll be forced to upgrade.

So how do you choose your new computer? I know a little bit about computers so I feel comfortable browsing through lists of computers and comparing their specs, but for most people that would be hell as they have no idea what a good computer should have and how much it should cost. In that situation I would always recommend that what the person does is buy a computer magazine which has some reviews in it.

You can go online and get reviews for free, but some of those reviews are by people who get a commission for every sale they make, and they don’t tend to go into as much detail as a magazine would. Magazines look at all the latest offerings and choose the ones they think offer the best value for money, from companies they know provide good customer service. An added bonus is that the computers which get the best ratings in the magazine will get a surge of sales, so the companies selling them will want to look after those customers because if the magazine gets complaints about customer service or other problems then they might knock the rating down next time.

Then once you have found one you are happy with you just need to add on some luxuries like a wireless keyword and some funky pink speakers, or maybe an external hard drive for backups, and you are ready to roll.
