Five Easy Breakfasts To Eat On The Run

Filed under Health and Fitness | Posted by admin

Studies have established that people who eat a morning meal develop less fat, are mentally sharper and their hearts are in a better condition. After not eating, for hours or so overnight, our bodies have to be refueled. Breakfast kick starts our metabolism. Someone who misses out on breakfast frequently end up in a mid-morning slump and indulge in more calories throughout the day.

Enjoying such a busy lifestyle creates a nutritional challenge. As usual, unless we awaken bright and early, we are more often than not running out the house, running children out the house, or both. While intellectually we understand the importance of eating breakfast, generally it is that one more thing we just can’t get to.

I have come upon a quick step solution that allows me to have breakfast while on the run. The following are some of my best portable breakfasts:

  • A cheese sandwich on rye bread with lettuce and tomato.
  • A hard boiled egg, a glass of milk, and a banana.
  • A bran muffin, (make a batch and freeze them ), a glass of milk and a piece of fruit.
  • A peanut butter and honey sandwich on whole wheat bread and a piece of fruit.
  • A fruit smoothie made with milk and protein powder.

Experiment with your choice of foods and develop your own breakfast on the run. Be certain to include a fruit or vegetable, a good form of fiber and a protein. Include your fruit with your breakfast or have it as your midmorning snack. Make the first meal of the day a daily habit. Moreover, not only are you helping your body but showing your family members good eating habits, as well.
